Dear Members of the International Network for Korean Language and Culture (INK), It is my great pleasure to greet you as I assume the role of the 13th President of the International Network for Korean Language and Culture. At a time when global interest in the Korean language and culture is stronger than ever, I feel both a profound honor and a deep sense of responsibility in taking on the presidency of our association, which has tirelessly worked toward the globalization of Korean language and culture and the establishment of its academic identity. Since its founding in 2001 with the vision of “a world connected through the Korean language and culture,” our association has now reached its 25th year. Building upon the solid academic foundation established by our former presidents and dedicated members, I would like to lead the association during my term with the following visions. First, I will further strengthen the core values of our association International and Network. We will deepen cooperation not only with domestic institutions such as the National Institute for International Education, the National Institute of Korean Language, and the King Sejong Institute Foundation, but also with universities and research institutes overseas. Moving beyond symbolic or physical exchanges, we will strive to build substantive research networks so that INK can serve as a true hub for scholars engaged in the study of Korean language and culture. Second, we will enhance academic depth while laying a foundation for the future. Through our journal, Journal of Korean Language and Culture, which has been indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea and recognized as an ESCI international journal, our association has developed a distinctive academic domain encompassing both language and culture. Building on this achievement, we will continue our efforts to further develop the journal into a truly international academic publication. Third, we will strengthen the internal foundations of the association and foster closer bonds among our members. I clearly remember the thoughtful and heartfelt suggestions shared by our members in the 20th anniversary commemorative volume. We will work to ensure that our association becomes not merely a venue for academic presentations, but a warm scholarly community where academic passion is shared and genuine human connections are cultivated. The continued growth and future of the International Network for Korean Language and Culture are possible only through the active participation and sustained interest of our members. Together with the 13th executive committee, I will listen carefully to your voices as we take confident steps toward the next 25 years of our association. Thank you.
