Dear KSAA members, The application closing date for the 2014 PG Workshop Conference is now EXTENDED until 30 August 2014. Attached please find updated files of 3rd KSAA Postgraduate Workshop Conference Call for Papers (also below) and Application forms. We would appreciate it if you would encourage your research students to participate in the conference. The application should now be submitted by 30 August. Call for Papers The Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSAA) 3rd Postgraduate Workshop Conference 4-5 December 2014 University of South Australia The Korean Studies Association of Australasia (KSAA) is pleased to hold a research workshop for postgraduate students and early career scholars in Korean Studies between 4 and 5 December, 2014 at the University of South Australia, Adelaide. The workshop is supported by the Korea Foundation, as part of their ongoing effort to support scholarship in Korean studies and foster the field in Australia and New Zealand. The workshop is designed to provide a forum for young researchers in Korean studies to present original research and receive feedback from senior scholars. The primary goal is to have research students and early career researchers present a proposal for research or a progress report on an on-going research project, and receive constructive comments and suggestions from academics in their respective field. Research Students and Early Career Researchers ? Please submit the application form (refer to KSAA website) with an abstract with no longer than 500 words by 30 August 2014. ? Students will also need to obtain a reference letter from their supervisor. ? Recipients of Korea Foundation postgraduate scholarships are particularly encouraged to take part. ? Please note that all presenters for accepted papers will have their travel costs reimbursed. Discussants ? If you are a senior scholar interested in being a discussant for the Workshop, please submit expression of interest by 30 August 2014 (Please use the form available in the KSAA website). ? Please note that all discussants will have their travel costs reimbursed. Important Dates ? Due date for Proposal: 30 August 2014 ? Notification of Acceptance: 20 September 2014 ? Due date for Full Paper: 31 October 2014 Special Note ? Travel grants will be provided to research students and early career researchers based in Australia or New Zealand only. ? From the papers of the workshop, a few will be selected for publication at the International Review of Korean Studies, subject to the outcome of the review process. ? The details of accommodation and travel assistance will be announced later.
