BTS콘텐츠를 활용한 취미 목적 한국어 학습자의 독학용 교재 개발의 실제
본 연구는 세계적인 K-팝 그룹인 BTS의 콘텐츠를 한국어로 즐기고 싶어 하는 BTS 팬과 모어 화자를 만나기 어려운 환경에 있는 제2언어 학습자를 학습 대상으로 개발한 취미 목적 독학용 한국어 교재 ｢LEARN! KOREAN with BTS｣를 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국어 독학을 원하는 이들이 교수자의 도움 없이도 혼자 학습할 수 있도록 개발된 취미 목적 한국어 학습 교재 ｢LEARN! KOREAN with BTS｣을 소개하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구 교재 개발의 토대를 이루고 있는 학습 동기 및 학습 지속 동기, 멀티미디어 교육 이론, 시각적 입력강화 이론, 기능 통합형 교육 이론을 살펴보고, 이를 토대로 개발한 교재의 구성 및 내용을 소개하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 교재의 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다, 첫째, 본 교재는 최근 빌보드 싱글차트 1위 석권을 비롯하여 2020 아메리칸 뮤직 어워드, 그래미 어워드 후보로 오른 방탄소년단의 콘텐츠를 교재의 주 내용으로 선정하였다. 둘째, 멀티미디어 교육 이론에 준하여 소리펜, QR코드 등 멀티미디어 학습도구를 도입하여 학습자의 학습 접근성을 높였다. 셋째, 초급 학습자가 이해하기 어려운 문법 규칙의 이해를 돕기 위하여 시각적 입력 강화 기법을 활용하였다. 넷째, 초급 학습자가 이해하기 어려운 문법 용어의 이해를 돕기 위하여 시각 강화 기법을 사용하였다. 마지막으로, 초급 한국어 학습자의 제2언어 학습효과 극대화를 목적으로 기능 통합형 교육 방식을 채택하여 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 분석한 한국어 교재는 한국어 학습을 교수가 아닌 학습자가 혼자서 학습하는 독학용 한국어 교재로, 해외에서 가장 인기가 높은 방탄소년단의 콘텐츠와 한국여행을 배경으로 구성하여 모어 화자를 만나기 어려운 환경에 있는 제2언어 학습자의 지속적인 학습동기와 흥미를 유도하였다는 점에 그 의의가 있다.
Developing a Self-study Korean Textbook That Taps into the BTS Contents for Those Who Are Learning Korean as a Hobby
The purpose of this study is to introduce “ ,” a textbook for students of the Korean language who are non-native speakers, and fans of BTS living in places where it is difficult to meet native Korean speakers, using the world-famous K-pop group BTS as the main theme. The purpose is to analyze the textbook and provide recommendations for developing language textbooks for casual students who prefer to study alone without the help of an instructor. In order to accomplish this study’s purpose, the textbook’s structure and content were examined in terms of study motivation and motivation to continue study, the multimedia education theory, visual-textual enhancement theory, and functional integrated education theory. The results of this study are as follows. First, the textbook developers have chosen BTS as their main theme. BTS is a K-pop group that has topped the latest Billboard singles chart, leading to their appearance on the 2020 American Music Awards and being nominated a Grammy. Second, following the multimedia education theory, multimedia learning tools such as the sound pen and QR codes were used to heighten accessibility. Third, visual-textual enhancement methods were used to aid understanding of difficult grammar rules., color chips were used to aid understanding of grammatical terminology. Finally, functionality integrated educational methods were adopted to maximize the learning outcomes for students learning Korean as a second language. The Korean learning textbook “ ” was found to use fun-filled BTS content within the background theme of a trip to Korea, with a variety of educational tools utilized to motivate students. This made learning more fun and provided meaningful assistance to students wishing to self-study the language.
