As human culture developed, language was created and has made progress. Language is a product of culture and a key driving force for culture. Therefore, while language and culture interact with each other, language reflects culture, and culture reflects language. They have a close relationship, as language is the mother of culture and culture is the mother of language.

In the 21st century, the areas of study break down the thick walls, paying attention to the interrelated areas, and to promote the development of related disciplines. Language and culture, language and cultural education cannot be an exception. As the international status of Korea increases, the status of Korean language becomes very high, and research and dissemination of Korean language education is spreading at home and abroad. At this point, in-depth research on language and culture will be an important stepping stone between Korean and Korean culture, Korean education and Korean cultural education, Korea and the world.

The International Network for Korean Language and Culture (INK) aims to establish a new field of study on the surface phenomena in which the language and culture interact and on the background of the inner world. And it tries to establish the identity of Korean-language culture and to disseminate it to the international community through the contrast between the Korean-language culture and the foreign-language culture of the world. To this end, the INK will strive to establish a systematic academic area for language and culture through theoretical studies of Korean-language culture and contrasting studies with other language cultures, and will focus on education and overseas dissemination of Korean language and culture.
