Academic Award Regulations

Article 1 (Definitions)
The ‘INK Young Researcher Award’ refers to the academic award established by the International Association of Korean Language and Culture (INK) for scholarly research and practical development of Korean language and culture.


Article 2 (Purpose)
The purpose of the regulations is to define matters concerning the awarding of ‘INK Young Researcher Award’.



Chapter 2 Deliberation Committee for
'INK Young Researcher Award'



Article 3 (Purpose of Installation)
The INK Young Researcher Award Committee (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Committee’) shall be established for the efficient operation of the awarding process.


Article 4 (Composition)
The composition of the committee is as follows:
1. The committee shall be composed of the president of the International Network for Korean Language and Culture (INK) and the members of the editorial committee, and may invite external members to the jury as necessary.
2. The committee consists of five members, including one chairperson. The chairperson is the president of the INK.
3. The committee’s affairs and duties shall be managed by the editor-in-chief of the INK..


Article 5 (Function)
The committee shall consider the following matters:
1. Establishment and amendment of regulations of the award
2. Selection of the awardee
3. Other related matters


Article 6 (Meeting))
The process of convening and decision-making is as follows:
1. The meeting of the committee shall be convened by the chairperson.
2. The meeting shall be decided by the attendance of the majority of the members present and by a majority vote.



Chapter 3 Eligibility and Selection Process



Article 7 (Qualifications)
A person who wishes to receive the award must satisfy the following requirements:
1. The articles submitted to the journal of INK (subject to the articles published in the previous year from the previous year to the end of September of the year in principle) by regular members of the INK are eligilble. The focus is on the scholars who are under 40 years of age who show academic achievements.
2. Any other person deemed necessary by the committee.


Article 8 (Recommendation)
The recommendation of the nominee shall be as follows:
1. In principle, the awardee shall be recommended by the committee.
2. The recommendation number is one or two persons in principle.


Article 9 (Selection)
The selection of the winner is made based on the recommended article and achievements. The criteria for deliberation shall be determined by the committee.



Chapter 4 Award



Article 10 (Prize and Prize Money)
Award and prize money are as follows:
1. The Awarding ceremony shall be held at the Fall Conference every year.
2. The total prize money shall be about 1 million won per round, but can be adjusted according to the decision of the committee.



Chapter 5 Supplementary Provisions



Article 11 (Recording)
The matters concerning the records shall be as follows:
1. The secretary shall prepare and maintain a list of prize winners, and record and manage the award status.


Article 12 (Fund Operation)
The principles of fund operation and enforcements are as follows:
1. All expenditures shall be subject to consensus of the committee.
2. The results of the awards shall be announced to the members annually at regular general meetings or conferences.


Article 13 (Other)
Processing of matters not listed in the regulations shall be subject to the decision of the committee..




Addendum

(Enforcement Date) The regulations shall be effective from the date of promulgation. (April 17, 2014)
